On Saturday, Oct. 3, Bellport High School held its annual homecoming game. The Clippers won their game against Deer Park with a final score of 22-14.
With a record of 1-3, this is the first victory of the season for the Clippers, who had previously lost against Huntington (27-19), Commack (21-13), and North Babylon (43-18).
They face off against Smithtown East, away, on Friday, Oct. 9 at 6 p.m.
“We all saw the true spirit of the South Country Central School District. As we took another step back on the road to recovery, what we saw on Saturday was people working together to create positive opportunities and teachable moments for our young adults. One step at a time, we are moving back to being exactly what the community expects us to be: a place that provides opportunities for our students and their future, which is also our future,” said interim superintendent John Dolan.
