Supervisor Daniel J. Panico is proud to announce Brookhaven Town’s annual Back to School Drive successfully collected and distributed backpacks and essential school supplies to more than 1,820 children in need. The annual drive was held by the Department of General Services’ Youth Bureau Division through its INTERFACE Program.
“I want to thank the many kind-hearted residents, businesses and Youth Bureau staff for their efforts in ensuring students throughout Brookhaven went back to school with the tools they need to be ready to succeed,” supervisor Panico said.
Councilman Michael Loguercio, town board liaison to the Youth Bureau, said, “Empowering students today builds a stronger tomorrow. Each year, this program provides students with the tools to build their future.”
