Bellport High School thespians are set to present “Pippin” on Friday, Feb. 6, and Saturday, Feb. 7, at 7 p.m. Tickets are $15 each and can be purchased online at CUR8.com.
The 55 student cast members and pit and crew have been working diligently to perfect the performance and have taken on challenges that extend beyond music and movement. They have learned how to support one another, take risks and show up fully.
“Watching them grow together has been one of the most meaningful parts of this experience,” said director Danielle Pafundi. “At its heart, ‘Pippin’ reminds us that a meaningful life does not have to be extraordinary to be beautiful. My hope is that when the lights fade and the final note is sung, our students carry that message with them—that their worth is not measured by perfection or applause, but by authenticity, connection and the courage to choose their own path.”
“Pippin” will be the first production performed in the district’s newly renovated auditorium.
“As we stepped into our beautifully renovated theater, it felt appropriate to choose a show that could represent this moment,” said Pafundi. “A space that is fresh, vibrant and full of possibility deserves a production that reflects that beauty, but also one that reminds us that theater is about so much more than what we see on the stage.”
