The South Country School District celebrated the grand reopening of its newly renovated high school auditorium with a ribbon-cutting ceremony, marking the completion of a voter-approved capital reserve project designed to enhance accessibility, comfort and the overall experience for students and the community.
The ribbon was cut just prior to the high school’s National Honor Society induction ceremony, with principal Erika DellaRosa and Board of Education president Anne E. Hayes doing the honors.
The $937,000 project, funded through capital reserve funds approved by district voters in 2024, with no additional tax impact, resulted in the following upgrades: new seating, expanded and improved ADA accessibility, new carpeted aisles and stairways, fresh paint, new ceiling-mounted speakers, expanded wireless microphone capability, new LED lighting with programmable controls and a new theatrical control console station.
“This updated auditorium reflects the continued support of our community and offers our students a modern, accessible performance venue they can be proud of,” said Antonio Santana, superintendent of schools.
